Council received presentation from Bryan Ulrich, Geotechnical Engineer and third-party reviewer of the Stibnite Gold Project Tailing Storage Facility.

Brian Ulrich’s Conclusions

The TSF includes:

  • An earthfill / rockfill dam
  • Stormwater diversion
  • A fully lined basin
  • A considerable drainage system at the base of the tailings
  • A very large buttress
  • Designed and regulated in the U.S.
  • The development of the TSF design is consistent with/exceeds the state of practice for tailings facility design. Based on my experience with tailings facilities and my understanding of this design, the Stibnite TSF is likely to result in the very safe and protective storage of tailings.
  • The overall concept for the Stibnite TSF make it by far, the most robust TSF I have ever come across in my 30 years as a tailings engineer.

Council continued their Strategic Planning Session with Dr. Chris Anderson, Yirri Global. Council approved the Annual SAC Representative Appointment Letter and Representative Responsibilities which will be sent to all cities and counties who participate in the Community Agreement.

Next Stibnite Advisory Council meeting will be held January 12, 2023
